Leviticus 20:2 "Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of he strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones."
This verse takes us back to Leviticus 18:21 and refers to sacrificing children in unholy sacrificial ceremonies to Molech. There was apparently some danger of this in the area. Some outside influence that was being warned against.
It was an offense to the Lord and his sanctuary and his holy name. v3
There is also warning against turning a blind eye to the crime. v4
I can but relate this activity to our present day abortion. It is the killing of babies, how ever people attempt to explain it away.
Proverbs 7:2 "Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye."
